All About Kilmarnock: ‘A Toon Worth Celebratin’ Wednesday 11th September 2019

Hot on the heels of our hugely successful June event, our September conference was another brilliant night…

The third of our quarterly conferences for 2019, the event again took place at the Park Hotel and gave rise to more fantastic discussion on how we as a community can work together to improve Kilmarnock’s town centre.

The evening was opened by our chair David, who put forward a message of determination and positivity – that Kilmarnock is a community which deserves to be celebrated once again and returned to its former vibrancy by the people who live, work and study here.

Peter Drummond (of Peter Drummond Architects) shared his team’s incredible progress on plans for the RBS building at Kilmarnock Cross, followed by a wonderfully inspiring talk from the hilarious Iain Scott of ‘Can Do Places’.

Finally our board members, Andy and James, spoke about the upcoming ‘Killiewe’en’ programme, which will feature a Spooky Walk and Adult Scavenger Hunt through the town.

It really was another uplifting and thoroughly worthwhile night, filled with equally worthwhile ideas. The response the night received has given us even more hope for future events and has reaffirmed our belief that the people of Kilmarnock want to play a part in transforming their town and effecting the changes they want to see!

Thank you so much to everyone who came along and took part and to the Park Hotel for once again providing a top-notch buffet.
