Kilmarnock Shopfront Improvement

Funding of £45,000 has been allocated to Kilmarnock town centre for Shopfront improvements.

Funding has been provided by the Place Based Investment Programme, Scotland’s Towns Partnership and East Ayrshire Council.

The main objectives of the Place Based Investment Programme are:

  • to link and align place based initiatives and establish a coherent local framework to implement the Place Principle;
  • to support place policy ambitions such as town centre revitalisation, community led regeneration, 20 minute neighbourhoods and Community Wealth Building;
  • to ensure that all place based investments are shaped by the needs and aspirations of local communities; and
  • to accelerate our ambitions for net zero, wellbeing and inclusive economic development, tackling inequality and disadvantage, community involvement and ownership

Application Form

Applications for Shopfront Improvement Funding are invited from businesses from Kilmarnock town centre looking to make repairs or enhance their shopfront.

Please note:
  • There is a strict total budget of £6000 per shop.
  • Contracts for the work must be in place by 31 March 2022.
  • Work must be completed by 31st July 2022.
  • Any work that requires Planning Permission / Listed Building Consent can take up to 2-3 months for permission to be received.
  • Please view the 'Boundary Map' in the accompanying guidance below to see what is deemed 'Town Centre'

We encourage Local traders to be used if possible as this supports the Love Local campaign which is part of community wealth building and we would advise using the East Ayrshire Trusted Traders scheme.
